Miami, FL - July 19, 2022 - Following the official and successful launch of The LATAM Insurtech Accelerator (LATAMIA) back in May, we are now pleased to announce that we have completed the initial process of selecting the Top10 Insurtechs that will make it into the Program.
Through the leadership of Pablo Tiscornia and the experienced support of the BrokerTech Ventures (BTV) Accelerator, LATAMIA has selected the best 10 Insurtechs that applied to the Program. We are incredibly proud and thankful for the interest shown by more than 100 Insurtechs, from more than 9 countries in Latin America.
The Top10 proudly represent 6 countries, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Spain, Mexico, and Uruguay. In terms of segments and type of business, they cover Online Brokerages, SaaS Platforms, Assistance Services, among others, both within P&C as well as Health, and across multiple Lines of Business. Finally, 40% of the Insurtechs have Female Founders which we think is a great thing.
“We are extremely excited to see The LATAM Insurance Accelerator take flight. The hard work Hilario, Pablo, and the team have put in is finally bearing fruit, which is really exciting for us at BTV. We feel our involvement with LATAMIA will not only assist startups in the region, but will also help us understand the amazing products and companies that come from outside of our immediate purview.”, commented John Jackovin, Executive Director at BrokerTech Ventures.
The LATAMIA Program, which starts the initial phase of 6 weeks today, will have the following 10 Insurtechs in its initial cohort:
- Simplee
- Sekure
- Autoinspector
- Yoko
- WeCover
- Gocleer
- FixUp!
- WeKeep
- Agenthos
- Pills & Care
We are also very pleased to announce that LATAMIA welcomes three great organizations as “Institutional Partners'', the Insurtech Association of Mexico (AIM), InsurteChile, and the Argentinean Chamber of Insurtechs. These organizations are the foundational partners of Insurtechs in each of their countries, supporting the growth of their respective ecosystems and collectively collaborating to ease the path for international growth between markets. Hilario Itriago, Chairman of The LATAM Insurtech Accelerator commented, “Together we aim at placing the Latin American Region, our Insurtech ecosystem, and best Insurtechs among the world’s most influential in the insurance industry globally”.
